The Young Leaders of Today program is focused on the leadership development of girls aged 10-16. This four-part series is designed to support the generation of future leaders with workshop and exercises on self-knowledge, self-awareness, confidence, skill building, representation and leadership styles.
This four-part series consists of the following sessions:

Know the Leader within you (understanding your personal skills, talents, values, and passions and being able to translate them into ways of servicing others)

Understanding Leadership (examining leadership styles such as transformational vs transactional leadership and recognizing leaders in your lives

Representation and Role Modeling (recognizing role models, being a role model and understanding representation in the workplace

Leadership Biases & Positionality (recognizing leadership biases against women leaders and learning how to navigate the successfully. Learning concepts such as glass ceilings, glass labyrinths and more)
Each session also consists of a 30-minute panel discussion consisting of local BC students and university alumni who share their experiences, challenges, and school/career best practices)

Facilitator
Fatima Rasheed
Fatima Rasheed currently serves as the Program Specialist with the World Trade Centre Vancouver. In her role, she is responsible for overseeing the flagship Trade Accelerator Program in B.C, connecting businesses with top industry experts and equips them with the tools and resources to find success as they grow their business internationally. Alongside her role, she is currently an Executive Team member for Voices of Muslim Women, where she spearheads the organization's leadership programs. Before devoting her time to VMW, Fatima has served on the advisory committee for the GVBOT Leaders of Tomorrow Program and mentored with the Langara School of Management's Co-op Department.
