Ringleaders Conference: Live Big Lead Now is an annual professional development and networking conference for women in Vancouver.  We feature a panel of powerhouse professional women in Vancouver (The Ringleaders Panel) and create dialogue, learning and intimate networking opportunities. Our aim for the event is to promote ringleaders in every industry in Vancouver, so that we can showcase and celebrate how women in Vancouver are living big and leading now. Hopefully, we inspire other women and girls to do the same over great food and even better conversations.

Aliza Vellani is an actress based out of Vancouver, Canada with over a decade of work experience in the Film & TV industry. She is best known for her role on the hit CBC television series "Little Mosque on the Prairie". Aliza's recent work includes series such as iZombie, The X-Files and Riverdale. Her lifelong passion for performance has lead her to work with incredible veterans in the industry and has now lead her into exploring the world of producing. Vellani hopes to create work that inspires others and shows people that the world is truly their oyster.




Deborah is an Entrepreneur, Mentor and Business Coach with a thirst for diversity and the need to dive into the ‘next new thing’. She has made the world of entrepreneurship her playground. Whether running her own companies or coaching other entrepreneurs, curiosity is what keeps her stretching toward the edges for new possibilities.

Equal parts a creative and critical thinker, she leans towards ideation and strategy for the focus of her work. Deborah continues to study and master the concepts of design-thinking and strategy along with the science behind happiness and the value of purpose. This combined focus stretches beyond the ability to assist clients in the improvement of their businesses and in all aspects of their lives. Known for the ability of making connections, seeing things with a fresh new perspective and relating everything to the bigger picture, she is recognized in the community for the roles she plays as mentor, facilitator, business strategist and coach.



Karina Hayat and her family arrived in Vancouver from Guatemala as political refugees in 1991 with nothing more than two carry-on bags and a sheer determination to succeed. She has become a challenge driven entrepreneur that juggles family and business with relentless motivation and class. She co-founded Prizm Media, a healthcare lead generation and digital media agency at the young age of 21 and has driven the bootstrapped company to success, ranking #52 in Canada’s PROFIT500, Ready to Rocket and Deloitte 500. She has been listed in Chatelaine’s W100 list of Canada’s 100 Top Female Entrepreneurs multiple times, is a Business in Vancouver’s Top 40 under Forty Recipient and a finalist in Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the year Award.  Despite her many accolades she insists that her motivation comes from her commitment to make a difference in her community. She volunteers with Junior Achievement, BC Muslim Association and Islam unravelled by providing opportunities for interfaith dialogue, youth mentorship and female empowerment.
