Aisha brings a world of experience working in the education sector, both locally in BC and internationally for over ten years. She has earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from the University of British Columbia and a Masters of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction: Justice, Law & Ethics in Education from Simon Fraser University. She has received her Digital Storytelling Instructor training from the Centre for Digital Storytelling in Berkeley, California and Freelance Journalism training from the University of British Columbia.
She has worked in a variety of capacities in the educational sector as an international recruitment coordinator, international educational student advisor, international business consultant, program coordinator, instructor, research and instructional support associate and more. Her work has taken her around the globe including India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and more. Aisha has worked at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, University of British Columbia, Surrey Board of Trade, Surrey Women's Centre and other leading educational and community institutions.
Aisha is passionate about youth & women empowerment, social justice and community building. Her academic research interests include islamophobia, anti-racist education and positive youth community engagement.
